With access to over 25,00 digital comics on a subscription basis, Marvel Unlimited is one of the largest libraries of streaming digital comics readily available on web and mobile platforms. Chaotic Moon Studios was approached by Marvel to execute on transforming Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, Marvel Unlimited’s predecessor, into its new mobile form for its unveiling at SXSW 2013. Marvel’s digital team had a base concept of the core functionality for the new experience, but being more familiar with web interfaces, they required the knowledge and experience of our team to realize this incarnation. As product designer, I worked with an iOS engineer, an Android engineer, and Marvel Unlimited’s product owner to create the UX and UI experience. This design is largely still in place for both handset and tablet experiences on each respective OS today.
